Signed from Tokyo Verdy along with his namesake, Daigo, Yoshiyuki remains an enigmatic, frustrating player. A horrible start to last season earned him the nickname "Yoshiuseless", though his form picked up a bit and he scored some important goals later in the year - notably a 25-yard strike away at Yokohama and a header at home to Avispa Fukuoka. Nevertheless Yoshiyuki has a tendency to coast through games and never appears to break a sweat - even in the summer months.
Though he may not carry a particularly hig profile, Kobayashi did contribute a considerable amount to the team in 2007, appearing in 33 matches, more than any other player on the team. His goal tally remained less than spectacular, but at least he seems to have established himself as a regular player, at last
