>Yamazaki Nabisco Cup, 2007The format for the Nabisco Cup has changed several times, but the use of pool groups to determine the final eight teams seemed to be a very successful format, and it was retained in 2007. With 18 teams in the J1 division, and two (Urawa Reds and Kashiwa Reysol) receiving a bye in order to take part in the Asian Champions League, the format for the group round this season is a very regular one (unlike last year, when there were different numbers of teams in each pool). The group winners from the pool round, as well as the two second-place teams with the best record, will join the Reds and Frontale in the quarterfinal round.
