A decent shot-stopper, Nishibe has cemented his role as Shimizu's first choice goalkeeper over the past three seasons. He was a constant presence during the 2006 season, appearing in all 34 league matches and producing a string of impressive performances that helped propel S-Pulse to fourth place in the J-League. Not the most "commanding" of keepers, Nishibe could stand to be a bit more authoritative in his movement about the penalty box, and this does make him susceptible to damage from the high cross. However, his quick reflexes and excellent shot-stopping abilities are sure to keep him at the top of the goalkeepers' list at S-Pulse, and fans can expect to see him between the sticks just about every weekend. | |
