The Xerox Super Cup is the traditional match which kicks off the J.League season every year. Typically played in late February or early March, the match pits the J.League champion against the Emperor's Cup champion. In cases where the same team wins both the league championship and the Emperor's Cup (as was the case in 2000), it is the Emperor's Cup runner-up which takes on the league champion. Xerox has been sponsoring the match in recent years, and thus the name "Xerox Super Cup", though there have been changes in sponsorship in the past.

The accompanying table is a list of all the Super Cup matches since the foundation of the J.League. Since 1993 was the first year of J.League play, the first Super Cup match was played in 1994. The more recent matches are clickable links that will take you to the match report for that year.
