Mancini denies criticising SS Lazio president

SS Lazio striker Roberto Mancini has denied criticising club president Sergio Cragnotti over the Serie club's transfer policy.

Mancini had questioned the number of strikers in Sven Goran Erikkson's squad and the classy veteran knows he faces a fight to continue his career with the club from the Latium. The new Serie A season starts on Septemmber 13th and the club are hoping to mount a credible title challenge for the first time in a generation. This hope comes from the signing of Chile striker Marcelo Salas but Mancini is unhappy that the side have yet to find a settled partner for the hitman and wants the place in the starting eleven to himself
