New Newcastle coach Ruud Gullit will start his spending with bids for two of his old Chelsea players.

Newcastle hope to appoint Gullit to succeed Kenny Dalglish before the weekend and the new coach would immediately start trying to buy striker Tore Andre Flo who has yet to command a regular place in the Chelsea first team and midfielder Roberto Di Matteo. Gullit signed him for Chelsea from SS Lazio and the player has been a big success in English football while maintaining his place in the national side for Italy.
