European Commission to meet Super League company

European Commissioner Karel Van Miert is to meet Super League company Media Partners International to discuss their plans for a new midweek league in Europe.

Van Miert will also meet UEFA to clarify the reasons for their opposing the new plan which has garnered generous support among the top European clubs over the last month. Van Miert has threatened to use his office to investigate possible abuse of power under European Law by the governing body.
