Everton spend £2.75 million on teenage goalkeeper

English Premiership side Everton have signed a teenage goalkeeper for £2.75 million.

Steve Simonsen plays on Merseyside for Tranmere Rovers and Everton have tracked his progress for the last six months. New coach Walter Smith has been very encouraged by reports of the 19 year old who also attracted interest from Arsenal and Manchester United. Simonsen is already in the England Under-21 side.
