SS Lazio face five weeks without injured Nedved

SS Lazio midfielder Pavel Nedved is out for the next five weeks after tearing a hamstring in the side's 1-0 win against Juventus on Sunday.

The highly-rated Czech international limped off after pulling up on a run shortly before Marcelo Salas scuffed the ball into the net to earn lazio a surprising win.

Nedved had surgery to repair the tear yesterday but is not expected to return for another five weeks as the injury needs time to heal. The two week Christmas break for Italian clubs means Nedved is only likely to miss three matches for the club.
