Dynamo Kiev striker Andrii Shevchenko will be an AC Milan player next June.
The club want the highly rated young player for a 1999 start but his move has been delayed by Kiev's continued progress in the Champions League.
The Milan executive in charge of transfers, Adriano Galliani, saw Shevchenko contribute to a 3-1 win against Lens on Wednesday night that secured their place in the last eight of the competition. They will participate until at least late March and Milan have agreed not to sign Shevchenko until this competition is over for Kiev who stipulated this as part of the £13 million transfer fee.
Veteran striker George Weah is the player most likely to make way next summer for the arrival of the young Ukrainian into coach Alberto Zacheronni's adventurous 4-3-3 formation.
