Olympique Marseilles striker Christophe Dugarry confirmed last night that Juventus had approached him.
Representatives from the Turin side met Dugarry earlier in the week to discuss a January transfer for the World Cup player. Juventus have suffered loss of form in the Serie A since injuries disrupted their forward line and they have struggled to score goals since Alessandro Del Piero wrenched knee ligaments a month ago to end his season. Dugarry will not be added to the Juve squad as a finisher but as a striker for others to play off and his aerial ability will give the Italian champions - regarded as favourites now to win the Champions League after a quarter final draw against Olympiakos - another option in attack.
Dugarry endured a miserable time with AC Milan on his first venture into Italian football three years ago so knows how hard life can be for a striker in the Italian league.
