Juve and Roma lock horns over Rapaijc

First Published: Dec 21, 1998

Juventus are racing to beat AS Roma to the signing of Perugia's Croatian striker Milan Rapaijc.

The transfer market in Italy opens again next month for a week and Roma are favourites to sign the highly-rated former Hadjuk Split player.

Champions Juventus have searched across Europe for new striking talent after the injury to their star Alessandro Del Piero ended his season and Rapaijc' physical presence and aerial ability has brought him to the attention of the Champions League favourites who are prepared to spend around £6 million to land the player.
