Russia appoint new coach of national side

Russia have appointed Anatoly Byshovets as new coach of the national side.

The 52 year old Ukrainian is set to recall fellow countryman Andrei Kanchelskis to his European Championship qualifying campaign which starts on September 5th.

The former striker played 40 times for the Russian national side and has left his job as club coach of Zenit St. Petersburg to take the top post in Russian football. He is the former coach of Dynamo Moscow and had international experience as coach of South Korea. He led Russia to Olympic gold medal position in the Olympic tournament in Seoul ten years ago.
