Chile World Cup defender Javier Margas will complete a move to English Premiership West Ham United by the end of the week.
Margas has made nearly fifty appearances for the Chile national side and once dyed his hair red, white and blue - the team colours. The 29 year old was an impressive performer in a 2-0 defeat of England in a friendly at Wembley last February and West Ham have been interested since then.
They were unable to met the initial valuation of £2 million for the defender set by his club Universidad Catolica last March but have now come up with the cash to seal the move. The Chile club are now willing to sell after West Ham sustained their interest until well beyond the recent World Cup.
