Glasgow Rangers will complete the signing of Scotland's World Cup captain Colin Hendry by the end of the week.
Hendry was outstanding in the opening game of the World Cup - a defeat against then world champions Brazil as he led the defence against Ronaldo. Now he is set to sign with Dick Advocaat's Rangers for around £3 million. In a four hour meeting at the Blackburn Rovers Ewood park headquarters Hendry told the club he captained to the Premiership title three years ago that he wanted to leave for the Scottish giants.
A fee is still to be settled but there is expected to be no problem over personal terms as Hendry signs for the club he supported as a boy.
