Brazil star Taffarel signs for Galatasaray

Brazilian goalkeeper Taffarel has been signed by Galatasaray for $3.5 million (£2million).

The 31 year old international joins the Turkish side from Brazilian outfit Atletico Mineiro on a three year contract. Before joining Atletico he also played for Palma in Italy.

Taffarel is currently one of Brazil’s most capped players with 101 appearances to his name. He helped them to win the World Cup in 1994 and played in every game during France 98 pulling off two penalty saves in the semi-final penalty shoot out over Holland.
