The complications arising from Nwankwo Kanu's demand for a £1 million bonus have stalled his transfer to Arsenal.
Inter want to keep a first refusal on the player for next summer and are willing to loan him to the English champions until then but Arsenal are keen on an outright purchase. However, Kanu's insistance on payment of a bonus due to him is stalling the deal as Inter do not want to pay.
If they succeed in offloading the Nigerian captain then they may seek to regain Paul Ince from Liverpool. Ince is still popular with the Milan giants and their legions of fans but his wife is reluctant to move to Italy again after settling back in England following two seasons with Inter.
