Israel restricted a neat Portuguese side to just two goals - and the last of these came in the dying seconds of the game.

Though Portugal were the better passing side and took the lead after only five minutes through defender Fernando Couto, Israel matched them at times going forward but lacked the finishing touch to convert any of their minor chances into actual goals.
