Brazil cut loose on a tired and out classes Russian side to hit five goals in Forteleza.

Udinese striker Amoroso won his third cap and hit two goals in the brightest Brazilian performance of the night but Denilson again disappointed for much of the game and was substitiuted in the 67th minutes.

Bayern Munich's Elber fired the home side into the lead after only three minutes and the Russian side had looked like crumbling from the opening seconds of this friendly.

Amoroso scored his first on 19 minutes with a fast shot on the run and Rivaldo added a third goal from the penalty spot as the confidence in Vanderley Luxemburgo's side began to soar. All the neat touches and fast athleticism of Brazilian football was evident on either side of the interval and the Russian visitors - who later claimed jet lag as an excuse - had no reply.

Assuncao scored his first international goal with a neat shot direct fro ma low cross in the 59th minute before the only Russian joy of the night occured. Oleg Kornakov - their most willing runner on the night - scored a penalty in the 66th minute but five minutes later Amoroso culled his second from the bereft Russian defence with a neat turn and finish.
