Leeds United will need to meet the full £6 million valuation for Nottingham Forest striker Pierre Van Hooijdonk.
Leeds are keen to sign the wayward Dutch striker who has only recently returned from self imposed exile in Holland after a row with the Nottingham club. He said the side was too weak to stay in the Premiership and wanted to leave. When his transfer request was not granted he went on strike for three months and the Forest players dislike the moody 28 year old intensely.
The reason Forest have allowed him back into the first team is to find a buyer at their valuation of £6 million. No club was prepared to gamble money on a player in dispute but Leeds are now very keen to sign the player who appeared twice at the recent World Cup for Holland. To sign him they must produce the full £6 million fee and Forest are not interested in player swaps or an offer in the region of £4.5 million that Leeds were planning.
