Del Piero operation in Colorado a complete success

Injured Juventus star Alessandro Del Piero had successful surgery yesterday on his left knee.

The striker was treated at the Colorado clinic of specialist Dr Richard Steadman and the Texan surgeon said that the operation had lasted 75 minutes and had been a complete success.

Del Piero suffered torn ligaments in his left knee three weeks ago in the closing moments of a league draw against Udinese. He is expected to be out of action until late March at the evry earliest but private Juventus sources admit he may not play again for the Italian champions until next season.
