Fiorentina in hunt for Super Mario

'Super Mario' has started to recover his top form after two seasons wrecked by injury but has failed to agree a new contract with Bayern Munich. A deal looks unlikely and former Bayern coach Giovanni Trapattoni wants to add Basler's midfield running to his championship charge in Italy where he had guided Fiorentina to the summit of the Italian game after only arriving at the club in the summer.
