The English FA have ignored coach Glenn Hoddle to pursue a ban against Liverpool captain Paul ince for a gesture he made after he was sent off in the 2-1 defeat in Sweden last month.
Ince was reported by the referee and received a three match ban from UEFA for Euro 2000 matches making him ineligible until next June to play in the qualifiers. Now Ince could be banned from friendly matches after the 'V' sign which he threw in the direction of the England bench as he trudged off the field in Stockholm. At first it was believed he had meant to insult England fans with the sign but Ince confessed later it was meant for England assistant coach John Gorman. Hoddle did not want any further punishment for the player but the FA are concerned over the lack of discipline that has invaded the England camp recently and will consider banning Ince.
