Germany coach tires of Basler

Bayern Munich midfielder Mario Basler looks to have quit international football after his omission from the latest German squad.

National team coach Erich Ribbeck has dumped the left sided player from his squad for the friendly tomorrow night against Scotland in Bremen and Basler has given interviews to German press men saying his international prospects are dead under Ribbeck.

Ribbeck has held the volatile Basler responsible for poor recent discipline in the German national team and reports of late night card schools and drinking games before a recent Euro 2000 game made the Bayern Munich player dispensable in the eyes of the coach.
