PSV target Winter

First Published: Apr 27, 1999

PSV Eindhoven are first in the queue for Dutch midfielder Aron Winter in the summer.

PSV want Winter to help them regain their place at the top of the Dutch game and coach Bobby Robson has already sanctioned a move for the Internazionale player.

Winter has spent the last seven seasons in Italy with Inter and SS Lazio but now finds himself without a regular place in the Inter side although new coach Roy Hodgson may look to his experience to help short term problems in the Inter camp as they limp towards the end of the season. Winter has held his place in the Dutch national squad and is highly rated by national team coach Frank Rijkaard.

PSV hope to sign him for around £3.5 million.
