Otto Baric steered Austria to the top of Group Six in his first game in charge.

Striker Ivica Vastic hit three goals but the star man of the night was Christian Mayrleb who claimed two himself. Mayrleb opened the scoring with a neat finish low underneath the advancing 'keeper and Vastic contributed to a 3-0 half time lead with two precise touches when clean through on goal.

Mayrleb started the second half romp by finding the net with a rebound after a drive from outside the area had struck a defender to run loose.

Martin Amerhauser scored the goal of the night when he used close control and exceptional balance to drift the ball clear of three defenders to hit a 74th minute goal. Herzog converted a penalty before Vastic hit a low drive to claim his hat trick.
