Seedorf says "It's Inter in two or three days"

Internazionale have signed Dutch midfielder Clarence Seedorf from Real Madrid after the conclusion of talks between the two clubs this morning.

The former Ajax and Sampdoria player has told Italian journalists that he will arrive in Italy by Friday to complete the transfer.

Seedorf failed to compromise in several lengthy rows with new Real coach John Toshack and has been on the way out of the club since the end of last year after two heated clashes with team mates. He joined Real in 1997 after an unhappy spell in Genoa with Samp and the Spanish side demanded at least £22 million to sell the midfielder. Seedorf told the Spanish press at the weekend that he had given up his place in the Real first team to new signing Steve McManaman and will finalise the personal terms of his move to Inter by the weekend.

Reports this morning that the move had stalled after Inter failed to meet the valuation of the Dutch player appear now to be incorrect and Inter have matched the fee demanded to acquire Seedorf on a five year contract. The 23 year old helped Real to the European Cup in his first full season in 1998.
