Shevchenko adds to Milan worries

Italian champions AC Milan have suffered more injury problems after a defeat against Real Madrid in a friendly last Tuesday night.

New record signing Andriy Shevchenko strained a thigh muscle in the game and missed training at Milanello this afternoon as the Milan medics continued to test the extent of the injury.

The Ukrainian star was set to lead the attack at Lecce at the weekend and Milan have several other injuries to their first team with Maldini and Albertini certain to miss the match.

Liberian striker George Weah has a swollen knee but did some light running today and may be risked at Lecce if the fitness of other stars proves to be a problem in the next two days.
