Zidane and Lizarazu back for France

Zinedine Zidane has been recalled to the French squad for two Euro 2000 qualidfiers next month.

The World Cup winners face a tough trip to Ukraine on September 4th and another away match in Armenia four days later.

Zidane had knee surgery at the end of last season and missed French internationals in June. He has returned for pre season training at Juventus and is playing well. Juve start their Italian season at the weekend.

Coach Roger Lemerre has recalled Youri Djorkaeff and Nicolas Anelkas after last week's friendly win in Northern ireland while Stephane Porato and Christian Karembeu are also included in the squad. Bixente Lizarazu returns after a long absence with a knee injury suffered in the Paris game against Ukraine last March.

Goalkeepers - Barthez, Ramé and Porato.

Defenders - Blanc, Thuram, Desailly, Leboeuf, Candela and Lizarazu.

Midfielders - Boghossian, Deschamps, Karembeu , Vieira, Djorkaeff and Zidane.

Strikers - Laslandes, Wiltord, Pires, Robert, Vairelles and Anelka.
