Inter buy Di Biagio

Internazionale have bought Italian international midfielder Luigi Di Biagio.

The move comes after a summer of talks held by the Milan club to try and sign Roma's French international defender Vincente Candela and their discussions with Real Madrid over the future of Clarence Seedorf.

Inter have stalled any move for the Dutchman who was injured in training this morning for the Spanish giants and sealed a quick deal to secure defensive midfielder Luigi Di Biagio for a fee of around £8 million.

The move takes Inter's summer spending by new coach Marcello Lippi beyond the £70 million mark as the club prepare for a new season on Sunday with a game against Verona.
