Germany announce friendly plans

European champions Germany have issued details of their friendly schedule for the next six months.

The games will help coach Erich Ribbeck to prepare the team to defend a title won in England in 1996 under Berti Vogts The Germans have been drawn to face England, Portugal and Romania in Group A at the finals with the top tow from the section going through to the quarter finals. They start their title defence in Liege against Romania on June 12th.

Germany will play co-hosts Holland in Amsterdam on February 23rd and then travel to Zagreb to face Croatia on March 29th.

At Kaiserslautern on April 26th they host Switzerland and play Liechtenstein on June 8th in Freiburg. The Germans also want to arrange a match for June 3rd. The Euro 2000 finals open on June 10th.
