Inter finally land Seedorf transfer

Internazionale have landed Real Madrid midfielder Clarence Seedorf in a £16 million transfer.

Inter have been chasing the Dutch international all year and finally completed the transfer this afternoon subject to a medical.

Seedorf, 23, made his name with Ajax and won the 1996 European Cup with the Dutch side before a short term move to Sampdoria saw Real come in for the midfielder. The arrival of Steve McManaman at Real in the summer only heightened Inter coach Marcello Lippi's interest in making Seedorf part of his new look Inter squad.

Real tried to beat off the interst at first by rating Seedorf in the £24 million class by talks over the past month brought the two sides together.
