Kluivert facing 12 match ban after TV punch

FC Barcelona striker Patrick Kluivert faces a maximum 12 match ban for his clash with Rayo Vallecano defender Jesus Diego Cota in their 22nd December game.

Television pictures showed the Dutch international punching Cota in an off-the-ball incident. In November Real Mallorca goalkeeper German Burgos was banned for 12 matches after a similar clash with Serrano of Espanyol and Kluivert himself was barred for four matches in October for abusing a linesman with insults during a game against Real Madrid.
