Kyiv Dynamo have arrived in Israel for a training camp as they prepare for their Champions League quarter final against Real Madrid on March 3rd.
The Ukraine season does not start again until the summer and the Champions League ties are all that is left from the last campaign for Kyiv to complete.
They are based south of Haifa in Caesarea and have lined up friendlies against other Russian sides who are also training in the area. Tonight they play Alenia Vladikavkaz with both Sergei Rebrov and Milan-bound striker Andriy Shevchenko due to start. Five other matches are planned including one against local side Maccabi Tel Aviv.
Their opponents are having the worst of it in the run up to the game. Humiliating defeat 3-0 at the hands of their great rivals FC Barcelona seems to spell the end for Dutch coach Guus Hiddink with former Milan coach Fabio Capello the front runner to replace him by the time Real restart the defence of their European title.
