Bilic facing early end to season

Croatian defender Slaven Bilic is to have surgery on his groin at the end of the week and may need further operations.

Bilic has made only two appearances for Everton in the English Premiership since the World Cup last summer and the operation will find out the extent of groin damage he has suffered in the past year. If another operation is needed it will end his season. He is a regular for Croatia but his career in England has stalled since a move from West Ham to Everton.
