Jason McAteer is on the verge of signing for Blackburn Rovers for £4 million today.
The Liverpool midfielder has already agreed personal terms with manager Brian Kidd, including taking a pay-cut, a point that has now been resolved but which almost sunk the deal last week.
The deal will tie McAteer to Blackburn Rovers for the next five years and now takes Kidd’s spending spree, since taking over at Rovers last November, to £15 million on new players.
