German national team striker Ulf Kirsten has told reporters that he intends to retire next summer.
Kirsten is in Mexico for the Confederations Cup with Germany and will play in next season's Champions League with Bayer Leverkusen but has confirmed his plans for retirement at the age of 33 after the next campaign. He is contender for the national team sqaud to play in the Euro 2000 finals next June.
