Liverpool say that star striker Michael Owen has passed a scan on his hamstring and will resume training soon.
The club play Dutch champions Feyenoord on Saturday in a pre season friendly and had sent their 20 year old England player back from a training camp in Switzerland to undergo tests on the muscle he injured last April and which need surgical treatment.
Owen has been given the all clear and the club have made optimistic noises that he will be fit for the start of the league season on August 7th but others are more cautious. All the top English teams play six times in three weeks in an intense August in possibly very high temperatures and Owen is expected to be given some rest if he recovers fitness soon.
