Nicolas Anelka signs for SS Lazio

SS Lazio have confirmed the signing of French international striker Nicolas Anelka from Arsenal.

The Rome club issued a statement one hour ago to end the 151 days of transfer speculation that has engulfed the Premiership club and several continental outfits since the end of last season regarding the 20 year old. Arsenal agreed a £22 million transfer fee this morning with Lazio and the player will be presented at their La Formello training ground tomorrow after signing a five year contract worth £4 million over the five seasons.

Arsenal have lined up French international striker Thierry Henry from Juventus as Anelka's £10 million replacement.
