AC Milan have sold German international defender Christian Ziege to Middlesbrough in a £5 million move according to the player's agent.
The left sided player can also be used in midfield and has signed a four year deal with the Premiership after a week of talks with the English club. The German was only a fringe member of the championship squad last season and has been linked with a move away from Milan for the past nine months.
Middlesbrough failed to land Ziege's Brazilian team mate Leonardo in a second attempt to bring the player to the Premiership when the 29 year old signed a new contract to stay with Milan until 2002 but were always optimistic that they could land the experienced Ziege who won Bundesliga titles with Bayern before a 1996 move to Serie A.
'Boro will complete the signing of Paul Ince from Liverpool by the weekend in a £1 million transfer.
