Kyiv in talks to sign Suker

Kyiv Dynamo will hold talks next week with Croatian star Davor Suker to make the player their new striker.

Kyiv have been looking for a replacement for Andriy Shevchenko who left for AC Milan this summer in a £15 million plus deal. The Ukraine champions anticipate another successful Champions League campaign but face a qualification round tonight and hope to have former Real Madrid star Suker on board by the next stage of the competition.

The 31 year old has been linked with a host of clubs since his release by Real in April. Clubs in Greece, Germany and England have all chased the trop scorer of France 98 without success. Perugia were in talks with the player two weeks ago but failed to agree personal terms. Suker demands one of the highest wages in Europe and would be Kyiv's most expensive purchase in their history.
