FC Barcelona have spent £10 million to sign former Real Madrid striker Dani this morning.
The Spanish champions signed Dani today after weeks of talks. The player had also been chased by a number of Premiership clubs including Chelsea, Arsenal and Newcastle.
Dani signed three seasons for Mallorca after failing to secure a regular place in the Real first team and he had an outstanding season last year for the island club. He made his international debut against Italy earlier this year and could be the first of several new signings to come into the Barca squad.
Coach Louis Van Gaal has been in talks with Bayern Munich about signing central defender Markus Babbel and Vasco da Gama's Felipe. Real Mallorca have now sold off two stars in the space of two days for nearly £16 million. Centre back Marcelino joined Newcastle yesterday in a £5.8 million move.
