Newcastle complete Marcelino signing

Newcastle United have completed the £5.8 million transfer of Real Mallorca defender Marcelino.

The central defender impressed many last season as Mallorca progressed to the last ever Cup Winners' Cup final and was part of the best defence in Spain earning an international call up in November.

Newcastle contacted Mallorca and the 28 year old in March and a deal was quickly made but personal terms were completed last night with the highly rated Spanish player.
