Middlesbrough have entered the chase to sign young England star Kiero Dyer with a £6 million bid.
The under-21 international defender was recently called into the full England squad and he is the young player in most demand in the Premiership this month. 'Boro have put £2 million on an offer from Leeds United that was rejected two weeks ago by First Division club Ipswich Town and the player himself has been quoted as saying he intends to complete a move to Newcastle soon who have also bid £6 million for Dyer.
'Boro are optimistic that their £7 million offer for young Irish star Robbie Keene will be accepted soon. Wolverhampton Wanderers resisted the first approach from the Premiership club but striker Keene has told his club he wants to move in recent talks.
