Lizarazu out for six weeks with knee damage

French star Bixente Lizarazu will miss the next six weeks of the season after damaging knee ligaments in the 0-0 Euro 2000 draw against Ukraine on Saturday night.

The Bayern Munich player is definitely out of both legs of the European Champions Cup semi final against Kyiv Dynamo with the damage to cruciate ligaments. He does not need an operation and his injury leaves France struggling to fill the left side of their defence after an injury earlier this month to AS Roma defender Vincent Candela.
