Austrian coach Herbert Prohaska resigned this morning in the wake of his side's destruction by Spain.
The Spanish hit nine goals against his side, leaving Prohaska no choice but to resign in an hour long meeting this morning with the head of Austria's football federation Beppo Mauhaut.
Prohaska had been in charge for more than six years and is the twenty fourth coach of the thirty two men who led countries at the last World Cup in France to lose his job.
The next game for Austria is against San Marino on April 28th in Vienna.
