France are optimistic that midfielder Zinedine Zidane will return to play for them on Wednesday evening in a Euro 2000 game against Armenia.
Zidane injured a knee against Olympiakos while helping Juventus qualify for the semi finals of the Champions league next week. His knee was placed in a brace and he missed the 0-0 draw in Paris against the Ukraine which needs the World Cup holders needing a convincing win at home to Armenia to get back on track for qualification from group four.
The midfielder appeared to miss quite badly by France in the game on Saturday which saw Ukraine almost claim a late win with a drive from Andriyy Shevchenko.
Zidane is training again and should at least find inclusion as a substitute after healing well over the past ten days.
