Portugal confirm Euro 2000 squad

Portugal have omitted their league's most expensive export for two Euro 2000 ties next month.

FC Barcelona signed midfielder Simoes from Sporting Lisbon last week for £12 million but he not been included in the squad to play two home games in Group Seven on June 5th and 8th against Slovakia and Liechtenstein.

The squad in full -

Goalkeepers - Baia and Espinha

Defenders - Secretario, Xavier, Costa, Couto, Conceicao, Madeira, Xavier, Teixeira and Severo.

Midfielders - Figo, Rui Costa, Sousa, Barbosa and Bento.

Strikers - Gomes, Jao Pinto, Capucho, Pauleta, Sa Pinto.
