Fiorentina eye Jeremies move

Fiorentina are preparing a bid to buy German international midfielder Jens Jeremies.

Coach Giovanni Trapattoni is a former Bayern coach and has worked before with Jeremies who was banned last week for five European matches after an ugly stamp on a Dutch opponent in a game at PSV in October.

Jeremies is a first team regular and has a contract with the Bundesliga champions until 2002 and Bayern would want at least £7 million to sell the player. Fiorentina are also keen to buy Corinthians midfielder Marcos Vampeta.
