Fiorentina send Mijatovic for surgery

Fiorentina have sent Yugoslavian striker Predrag Mijatovic for ankle surgery that could see him miss the next three months of the season.

The Serie A club face championship matches and Champions League games in the coming months but Mijatovic has a long term problem with ligament tears in his left foot and needs an operation to repair the damage. Club doctors sent the summer signing from Real Madrid to a specialist last week and he has recommended surgery with Mijatvoic due for the operation next week.
